Ocala resident discusses overcrowding on local roads

To the Editor:

I have been driving the current roads all over this county and, believe me, they are badly in need of repair. This county currently seems to focus on bringing big business here to park and grow. That is not a bad thing, but remember that prior to adding more traffic, our roads were already overburdened with traffic. Many of the high traffic areas are bumper-to-bumper at certain given times of the day.

Has anyone thought about a survey from the drivers that run this gauntlet each and every day? On 36th Avenue, large commercial trucks run all day long, along with regular traffic of moms and dads trying to get their kids to school. We, as a county, have outgrown our current roads. Our roads can no longer handle the traffic flow, but we keep bringing more traffic to this county. Orlando did the same thing and has been playing catch-up for years now. Fix what we have and go from there.
