Dunnellon woman arrested after relative accuses her of stealing lawn mower

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 36-year-old Dunnellon woman after she was accused of stealing a relative’s riding lawn mower.

On Thursday, an MCSO deputy responded to a residence in the 9900 block of SW 202nd Circle in Dunnellon in reference to a possible theft incident. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Michaele Erin-Isom Tidd who was inside a vehicle near the property.

In the MCSO report, the deputy noted that Tidd “spontaneously uttered that she took a lawn mower belonging to her relative and drove it to Inglis.” Tidd told the deputy that some of her clothing items were inside the victim’s residence, and she would return the lawn mower to the victim when the clothing belonging to her was returned.

The deputy made contact with the female victim who advised that she had been in another state for the past several days. Upon returning to the residence in Dunnellon, the victim noticed that her John Deere riding lawn mower, which was valued at approximately $2,000, was missing from the garage.

The victim advised that while she was out of town, Tidd had entered the garage, removed the lawn mower without permission, and transported it to Inglis. The victim added that Tidd had allegedly threatened to sell the lawn mower.

When the deputy returned to Tidd, she claimed that she did not steal the lawn mower since she had been at the victim’s home legally. She further stated that she had driven the lawn mower to a residence in Inglis, though she did not provide the address to this property.

Tidd was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail where she is currently being held on $2,000 bond. She is facing a felony charge for grand theft over $300 but less than $5,000.

A court date has not been scheduled yet, according to jail records.
