Youth Job Fair at College of Central Florida’s Levy Campus

CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion is partnering with the Levy County School District to host a Youth Job Fair next week at the College of Central Florida’s Jack Wilkinson Levy Campus located at 15390 U.S. 19 in Chiefland.

The Levy County Youth Job Fair, which is exclusively for youth and young adults (ages 16 to 24), will be held on Thursday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to noon. The job fair is ideal for individuals who are seeking full-time or part-time employment for permanent, summer, or temporary positions.

There is no cost to attend the hiring event, but job seekers are asked to register in advance by clicking here.

Dale French, executive vice president for CareerSource CLM, stated that participating businesses can “gain access to their ‘next generation’ of workers.” French added that the event is an opportunity for Levy County’s older youth and young adults to find their first job, gain more experience, or embark on a path toward a new career.

According to French, 15 to 20 businesses are expected to take part in the job fair, and they all have immediate positions to fill. Those businesses include Capital City Bank, Cross City Correctional Institution, Farmers Furniture, FedEx, Florida Department of Transportation, Fun 4 Kids 2, and the Levy County Sheriff’s Office.

Any businesses that are interested in taking part in the fee-free job fair, or those wishing to place job orders if unable to attend, should contact the CareerSource CLM business development team at 1-800-746-9950, ext. 1145.

While the School Board of Levy County is co-hosting the hiring event, it is also open to youth and young adults (ages 16 to 24) from Marion and Citrus counties.

In addition to next week’s Levy County Youth Job Fair, CareerSource CLM is co-hosting the Marion County Youth Job Fair on Thursday, April 27 at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion Auditorium located at 2232 NE Jacksonville Road in Ocala.

Attendees should bring printed copies of their resume and be prepared for on-the-spot job interviews. Proper dress will be required and all those planning to attend the job fair should come dressed to impress: no flip-flops or casual sandals, t-shirts with profane or obscene language or images, no shorts or jeans with rips or holes, or anything that is too tight, too short, or revealing.

Anyone interested in developing or updating their resume, working on interview skills, or receiving job fair preparation tips are encouraged to visit one of CareerSource CLM’s career centers located in Ocala (2703 NE 14th Street), Lecanto (683 S Adolph Point), and Chiefland (2175 NW 11th Drive). All job candidate services are available at no charge.
