Final Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series concert moves indoors

Due to expected inclement weather, tonight’s Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series concert is moving to an alternate indoor location.

The free concert will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the E.D. Croskey Recreation Center, which is located at 1510 NW 4th Street. It was originally scheduled to take place outdoors at Webb Field.

After an opening performance by jazz artist Miranda Madison, headliner Shamarr Allen will take the stage. Allen hails from the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans, and his musical influences include jazz, hip-hop, funk rhythms, blues, and country.

The 2023 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series, which began on April 21 and wraps up tonight, features a diverse lineup of high-caliber talent spanning musical genres such as blues, jazz, salsa, soul, indie, Afro-Rock, inspirational, and R&B.

The series is sponsored in part by the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, a national funder of creative placemaking that empowers communities to inject new life into underused public spaces.
