The Marion Theatre is hosting a free day of sci-fi movies on Saturday, September 23.
The movie day, which celebrates the installation of a new screen and laser projector in the downstairs theatre, will feature the following films:
- “Zathura” (2005) at 11:30 a.m.
- “Back to the Future II” (1989) at 2 p.m.
- “War of the Worlds” (1953) at 5 p.m.
- “Tron” (1982) at 8 p.m.
According to the Marion Theatre, the sci-fi movie event is being offered as a special gift to the community. No tickets are required for the four films.
The Sci-Fi September programming is sponsored by Junior League of Ocala and the Marion County Children’s Alliance.
Tickets to regular film programming at the Marion Theatre can be purchased online or at the door; or by calling the Reilly Box Office on Tuesday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 352-351-1606.
The Marion Theatre is located at 50 S Magnolia Avenue in Ocala.
