Kid-friendly spooky stories at Fort King on Oct. 21

The Marion County Public Library System is inviting local children and their families to Fort King on Saturday, October 21 for an evening of spooky stories.

The event, Stories Under the Stars: Phantoms in the Fort, will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Fort King National Historic Landmark located at 3925 E Fort King Street in Ocala.

According to Fort King, the family-friendly event will feature stories of the “strange and eerie.” Featured guest and master storyteller Linda Schuyler Ford will begin with fun tales, and the stories will get a bit spookier as the evening gets darker.

There is no cost to attend the event, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs, blankets, and snacks.

Stories Under the Stars: Phantoms in the Fort is presented in partnership with the Ocala Recreation and Parks Department, Fort King National Historic Landmark, and Ocali Storytelling Guild, Inc.
