Two drivers were hospitalized on Monday afternoon following a three-vehicle crash that occurred in southwest Ocala.

At around 4:20 p.m., several Ocala Fire Rescue units responded to the 3300 block of SW College Road and observed three vehicles with “varying degrees of damage” from a collision. The damage ranged from “minor to heavy,” and one of the vehicles had rolled onto its side, according to OFR.

OFR crews stabilized the vehicle that was on its side while paramedics assessed the individuals who were involved in the crash. Two of the drivers were transported to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

No additional injuries were reported.

The Ocala Police Department and Marion County Fire Rescue’s Medic 65 unit also responded to the scene of the accident.

In a social media post, Ocala Fire Rescue stated that while the number of vehicles “seems to be on the rise,” it is “imperative that we remember that much like with fires, road safety is everyone’s ‘fight.’”

OFR encourages motorists to “practice road safety by keeping your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road whenever you drive.”
