Local firefighters were dispatched to a car dealership in southwest Ocala on Saturday morning after receiving reports of a structure fire.
Shortly after 7:25 a.m., Ocala Fire Rescue units consisting of Engines 1, 4, and 6, Tower 1, Rescue 4, and Battalion Chiefs 11 and 22 responded to Volkswagen of Ocala located at 5135 SW College Road, according to OFR.
Engine 6 was the first unit to arrive at the dealership, and crews observed flames through one of the upper windows of a building on the premises. OFR stated that the building’s sprinkler system was active.
Firefighters began attacking the fire from inside the building while additional crews climbed onto the roof to assist with ventilation. The flames were soon extinguished, and damages were contained to the “room of origin,” according to OFR.
There were no injuries reported.
Ocala Fire Rescue stated that the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
The Ocala Police Department and Marion County Fire Rescue also responded to the dealership.
