Marion skyline featured in 2024 Florida Association of Counties calendar

The Florida Association of Counties recently unveiled the county photos featured in their 2023–2024 annual calendar, and a shot of the World Equestrian Center was selected for the month of February.

The theme of this year’s calendar is “Skylines of the Sunshine State.” According to Bill Truex, FAC President and Charlotte County Commissioner, the skylines of Florida counties are being showcased this year “because it highlights the beauty and diversity from the most rural to the most urban areas.”

FAC received more than 580 submissions, ranging from downtown cityscapes to historical landmarks.

Mark Anderson’s photograph of the World Equestrian Center was one of those submissions, and it was ultimately chosen to be one of the featured photos in the calendar.

Truex stated that “the selection of the 15 counties featured in this publication was not easy, but highlights the incredible variety Florida’s counties have to offer.”

Every year, FAC opens a photo contest to all of Florida’s 67 counties to be one of the 15 featured in their annual calendar. This year, hundreds of photos were submitted from a total of 52 counties, and the winners were announced during FAC’s Legislative Conference in Hillsborough County.

The chosen counties include:
