Driver ejected from car after crashing into power pole in Ocala

A motorist in Ocala was rushed to a local hospital on Wednesday afternoon after crashing into a power pole on NW 2nd Street.

Shortly after 1:25 p.m., several Ocala Fire Rescue units responded to the 600 block of NW 2nd Street in reference to a rollover crash that occurred in the area.

According to OFR, a driver lost control of their car and struck a trailer that was being pulled by a second vehicle. After this initial impact, the car collided with a wooden power pole before rolling over.

The driver of the car was ejected during the crash. When paramedics arrived on scene, the driver was trauma alerted to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

The Ocala Police Department, Ocala Electric Utility, and Marion County Fire Rescue also responded.

Access to NW 2nd Street was temporarily limited following the crash as OEU crews secured the power lines and restored power.
