City to host 2nd public meeting on Fisher Park flood mitigation project

The City of Ocala will host its second neighborhood meeting this week to solicit feedback from residents on potential plans for flood mitigation at Fisher Park.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 17 at St. John’s Lutheran School, which is located at 1915 SE Lake Weir Avenue in Ocala. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. in The Grace Place located behind the sanctuary.

According to the city, the proposed project aims to address flooding within the neighborhood while keeping as much of the current greenspace as possible.

The City of Ocala’s second neighborhood meeting on the proposed flood mitigation project at Fisher Park will be held on January 17, 2024.

During the meeting, city staff will provide information about the critical nature of the flood mitigation project. They will also present the potential mitigation design approaches, as well as the desired park amenities and upgrades.

In addition, city staff will take input and address any questions from the residents in attendance.
