To the Editor:
I am a native Floridian and want some development in the way of exercise, with somewhere to go to and walk etc., but an ice rink is not the answer. We have so many things that are lacking in Ocala to make it family-friendly, and an ice rink is for a select few. Some people will go there for the novelty and fun maybe twice a year. I think the novelty will wear off too quickly.
We do have a roller rink and it is basically dead. Kids these days aren’t into this sort of activity anymore. Believe me, I love kids having an outlet, but there are better things that are not so exclusive to a certain group of people that we need. A general family-friendly activity that everyone can relate to on a daily basis and not twice a year.
