It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Howard James Buttery, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Howard peacefully departed from this world at the age of 88, leaving behind a legacy of courage, dedication, and love. Born on March 18, 1935, Howard served his country with honor as a Navy veteran, bravely defending the freedoms we hold dear. After his military service, he continued his commitment to public service by becoming a dedicated firefighter, selflessly risking his life to protect others. His unwavering bravery and steadfast determination will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Howard was an avid outdoorsman who found solace in the beauty of nature. He cherished moments spent hunting in the crisp morning air creating precious memories with his family and friends. Above all, Howard treasured his time with his beloved family. Whether gathered around the dinner table sharing stories or embarking on adventures together, his love for his family was boundless. His kind heart, infectious laughter, and sage advice will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Howard is survived by his loving wife Constance, his devoted children Denise, Kevin and Richard, his grandchildren Daniel, Colt, Riley and Douglas his great grandchildren Raelin, Addi, Ainsley, Dax, Colt Jr., Raegan and Ava, along with a host of relatives and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.

Service will be held at Florida National Cemetery on March 22,2024 at 10:30, where we will gather to honor and remember the extraordinary life of a remarkable man who touched the lives of so many. A celebration of life immediately following at Big Bass Grill in Lake Panasoffkee. Due to limitations on floral arrangements at the cemetery, a donation can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Though he may be gone from our sight, Howard’s spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created. May he rest in eternal peace.
