Tidal Wave Auto Spa has opened a new car wash in Ocala just over six miles south of its first location, which opened along State Road 200 in 2021.
Located at 7510 SW 95th Street Rd, the car wash celebrated its grand opening at the end of March.
During its first week, Tidal Wave offered free car washes to customers at its new location. According to the company, that promotion ended on Thursday.
The second location opens just under three years after it was first reported by Ocala-News.com in 2021.
That same year, Tidal Wave Auto Spa opened its first location in Ocala at 3209 SW College Road, across from the Paddock Mall.
That car wash is situated about 6.3 miles from the new location, according to Google Maps.
In the past five years, State Road 200 has become a haven for car washes, with at least six in an 8.5-mile stretch from Soapy’s, which is located just off the roadway along SW 19th Avenue, to the RaceWash near On Top of the World.
In addition to Soapy’s and the two Tidal Wave locations, SW College Road is also home to three separate RaceWash car washes at 2420 SW SR 200, 5199 SW 48th CT (which is just off SR 200), and 7777 SW SR 200.Â
Just a few miles south of that group of car washes, Top Shelf Car Wash and Detailing operates a location at 11265 SW 93rd Ct Rd.
In total, there are over two dozen self service car washes across Ocala, with several more planned or in various stages of construction.
That includes another RaceWash along County Road 484, a recently opened Bay Blast Car Wash along East Silver Springs Boulevard, and a ModWash planned for east Ocala.
