In order to accommodate the construction of a sidewalk, Ocala motorists can expect lane closures on SW 80th Street beginning this week.
The intermittent lane closures will be in effect on SW 80th Street, between SW 70th Avenue and State Road 200, starting on Tuesday, May 21 through Tuesday, May 28.
According to a media release from Marion County, Marcum Enterprises, LLC will be constructing a sidewalk on the north side of the roadway in conjunction with the county-approved U-Haul Ocala development project.
Workers and equipment will be located in the county right-of-way.
Construction crews will place barricades and signs to direct traffic through the work zones. Travelers should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.
Adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances may affect schedules.
