New Tractor Supply may be coming to Silver Springs

Tractor Supply Company may soon have a fourth location in Marion County.
Tractor Supply Company may soon have a fourth location in Marion County.

A site in east Marion County was recently purchased by a holding company that has a history of building retail businesses, including several locations for a national farming supply company.

JFS Holdings, LLC, a North Carolina company registered to Phil C. Lanning, purchased the property in April for $935,000, according to Marion County property records.

Lanning is the Chief Executive Officer and President of Primax Properties, LLC, a North Carolina-based company that develops, constructs, and manages properties. The company is responsible for dozens of real estate projects on behalf of national brands including Advance Auto Parts, Starbucks, and Tractor Supply, among others.

The 9-acre property is located in the 16000 block of E Highway 40, in Silver Springs, next to a substation of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Forest Community Center.

Before it was sold last month, the 9-acre property had remained in the same owner’s possession for nearly 26 years dating back to July 1998.

If a Tractor Supply is built at the space, it will join three others in the area in the south (1751 SW 134th St, Ocala), north (7351 N U.S. Hwy 441, Ocala), and southwest (11252 N Williams Street, Dunnellon) parts of Marion County.
