Local officials are inviting anyone and everyone to participate in this year’s bird-themed calendar photo contest, which will highlight birds throughout Marion County.
Hosted by the Marion County Office of the County Engineer and its Stormwater Management, the theme of the 2025 Stormwater Calendar is “The Wonderful World of Birding.” The calendar will highlight the many birds that are found throughout Marion County.

To be eligible for the contest, all photos must have been taken in Marion County and must also depict images associated with local bird species.

Images must be submitted via email, and each submission should include the photographer’s name, contact information, photo location, and a brief description of each photo (for example: “egret in Silver River”).
A maximum of three entries are allowed per person.
Photo quality and resolution must meet size, design, and publishing standards (a minimum of 300 dots per inch, or dpi). Photos should be clearly visible when printed at standard paper size (8.5×11 inches).
By submitting a photo, photographers grant Marion County the right to use the images in any future print, broadcast, or digital media.
All entries must be submitted via email (to: [email protected]) by no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, July 8. The winning images will be selected and published in the 2025 Stormwater Calendar.
