A new emergency room in northwest Ocala will open its doors to the public next week.
The University of Florida Health Ocala Neighborhood Hospital will open its new emergency room on Tuesday, July 16 at 8 a.m.
Hospital staff has been conducting simulation training in the ER, as well as practicing landings on the helipad, in anticipation of the opening.
Located at 2100 NW 35th Avenue Road, the three-story, 150,000-square-foot facility hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony last month.
The hospital features 10 emergency rooms, 10 inpatient rooms, 4 surgical operating rooms, and a medical imaging center.
First announced in 2022, in addition to emergency and inpatient rooms, the facility also features a rehabilitation clinic, seven emergency examination rooms, an anesthesia pre-operative center, a physician office space, and an outpatient center for lab draws.
The surgery center at the new hospital will feature 12 pre- and post-operative beds, and the imaging center will feature two general X-ray rooms, two computerized tomography (CT) rooms, an ultrasound room, and one magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suite.
