Midtown Station opens new lakefront dining space in Ocala

A new brewery and dining space has opened its doors across from Lake Tuscawilla in Ocala.

Midtown Station is now open for business at 235 NE Watula Avenue. The new establishment celebrated its soft opening over Labor Day weekend.

Midtown Station features craft brews from its sister location, Infinite Ale Works, and food from several different vendors.

Currently, that includes La Pinsa, which serves Roman flatbreads that are lighter, crispier variations of pizzas.

Chicken Spit serves marinated chicken shaved off a spit. All chicken is marinated for 24 hours in a secret blend and served with freshly made Roti bread.

Spagato Gelato puts a fun twist on the traditional gelato shop, offering a spaghetti variation of the popular Italian dessert. In addition to gelato, the business also sells a variety of dirty slushes.

For those looking for an alternative to entrees, desserts, and alcoholic drinks, Sipping Grounds offers coffee and small bites.

Midtown Station says additional vendors will join the space in the future.

“Our mission is to create a lively, welcoming space where friends and families can gather, explore, and indulge,” reads a statement from the new dining space’s website. “Whether you’re here for a quick bite, a leisurely dinner, or a night out for drinks, Midtown Station offers an unforgettable experience.”

Despite only being a few days old, the newest addition to Ocala’s dining scene has been several years in the making.

In 2021, the brewery received approval to revitalize the former City Fire Station #1.

This past May, the facility was approved for its alcoholic beverage location permit by city officials.

Midtown Station is open seven days a week beginning at 7 a.m. It closes at 9 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday, 10 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 7 p.m. on Sunday.
