A family recently opened a new bird supply store in southwest Ocala that specializes in bird seed, feeders, and other birding products and accessories.
Wild Birds Unlimited Ocala officially opened its new location at 5400 SW College Road, Suite 112, in mid-November. The new business is situated next to the Publix within the Heath Brook Commons shopping center.
According to state corporate records, Wild Birds Unlimited Ocala is owned by husband and wife Doug and Susan Gilmour, and their daughter, Lindsay (Gilmour) Riel. The trio also owns the Wild Birds Unlimited store in Gainesville.
Wild Birds Unlimited Ocala sells all things bird-related, including food, feeders, poles, baffles, hobby products, baths, and houses. In addition to in-store purchases, the retailer also offers online ordering, with free shipping for orders of a certain price.
There are approximately 345 Wild Birds Unlimited shops around the United States, including 19 in Florida. Outside of Ocala and Gainesville, the brand operates locations in greater Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, and Tallahassee, among others.
The new store in Ocala is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is closed on Wednesday.
