Miss Florida, who was born and raised in Ocala, just claimed a preliminary prize at this year’s Miss America competition, where she is hoping to continue her stellar year and win the national crown.
Casana Fink won one of three preliminary gown awards on Thursday during this year’s Miss America competition.
The multi-day event is currently taking place in Orlando and will culminate with a coronation of the new Miss America on Sunday, January 5.
Fink, who was crowned Miss Florida in June, dedicated her performance to the organ donor who saved her dad’s life.
“In my walk, I dedicated this performance to the organ donor who saved my dad’s life and to all of the donors who selflessly give others a second chance by giving life,” said Fink in a post to the Miss Florida social media channels.

“I wear green for them – for their courage, their generosity, and the hope they bring to so many families like mine when they pass away.”
An Ocala native, Fink has had a stellar year in the pageant scene, having won Miss Tampa just a few months before claiming the Miss Florida title.
In previous years, Fink claimed the titles of Miss Ocala USA and Miss Ocala’s Outstanding Teen.
In addition to her role as Miss Florida, Fink is also the chief operating officer of More Transplants, More Life, an organization that focuses on providing organ transplants to individuals and support for patients and living donors.
A true Floridian, Fink graduated from Forest High School in Ocala and the University of Florida in Gainesville.
In August, Fink was honored by the city with a proclamation dedicating a day in her honor.
“I’m very grateful; very proud to be from Ocala,” said Fink after receiving the honor.

In June, after being crowned Miss Florida, Fink expressed gratitude to God in helping her fulfill her dreams.
“God’s timing is always perfect. A childhood dream came true last night and I am in complete awe. So grateful for you, Florida,” said Fink in a post on social media.
