Four siblings will open a new drive-thru coffee shop in Ocala soon, joining at least three other companies that have opened similar spots in the city over the last year and a half.
Walla Coffee Co. is working on its first location at 3711 SW College Road in Ocala. The new shop will be situated next to the roadway’s interchange with Interstate 75, just west of the recently opened Nothing Bundt Cakes.
According to a press release, the company plans to open in mid-February, although an exact date was not provided.
Walla Coffee Co. was founded by four siblings: Jordan D. Matson, Jaden C. Walter, Jada Matson, and Tori (Matson).
According to a statement from the company, the family “grew up immersed in the rich coffee culture of the Pacific Northwest (Washington State).”
State corporate records show that Walla Coffee Co., LLC, was established in April 2024 and has a principal address in Marion Oaks. Walter, who is listed as a manager, has an address listed in Kennewick, Washington, which is where the family has its roots.
When it opens next month, the new drive-thru coffee shop will sell coffee, flavored energy drinks, and related items.
“Our drinks reflect the quality and creativity that have always been part of our story,” said Tori, another founder. “We’re so excited to bring this experience to Ocala and invite everyone to share in our adventure.”
Over the past year and a half, Ocala-News.com has reported on at least six new coffee shops that have opened or are planned for Ocala.
In December, Ellianos opened its first drive-thru coffee location in Ocala. That same month, Starbucks opened a new location in the northwest part of the city. In May, Starbucks opened a new location in east Ocala.
OLA Coffee opened two drive-thru shops in Ocala in June and October 2023, and last summer, Ocala-News.com reported that Red Owl Coffee Company, a Georgia-based chain, has a location planned for the city.
