Marion County officials say that installation of new gateway signage on Interstate 75 in Ocala should be “substantially complete” by early next month.
According to a statement issued by the Ocala/Marion County Visitors Convention Bureau, the project is expected to be “substantially complete by early March 2025.”
Currently, the city’s name has been added to the overpass, and several equestrian-themed art panels have been installed. During the evening and early morning hours, the letters in “OCALA” light up.

According to the MCVCB, additional art panels will be installed and lighting is still being tested at the site, which is at the 42nd Street flyover along I-75.
The installation of the new signage began over the summer. Funded entirely by tourist development tax revenue from visitors, the south gateway welcomes northbound motorists to Marion County.
In addition to the south gateway, another gateway installation is planned for the future interchange near Ocala’s first Buc-ee’s.
In late 2023, two county line markers were installed along the interstate.
