It has been two years since Sara Gail Ebersole disappeared without a trace, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office is seeking any information from the public that may help find her.

According to MCSO, on March 2, 2023, then-26-year-old Ebersole was given a ride from a convenience store to a residence located at 18080 N U.S. Highway 441 in Reddick. She was dropped off at the home with another individual, identified as James Robinson.

Ebersole spent a portion of that night with Robinson, who lived in one-half of the subdivided residence. A couple, identified as James Schaller and Teesha McDermitt, lived in the other half of the residence.

The sheriff’s office stated that at around 1:25 a.m. on March 3, 2023, Robinson began texting a man identified as Tyrone Morman. In those messages, Robinson mentioned that Ebersole was “hanging out” at his home.

During the text message exchange, Morman expressed interest in “spending time” with Ebersole, and he proceeded to arrive at Robinson’s home on the morning of March 3, 2023, in a blue 2017 Hyundai Sonata. At around 4 a.m., Morman drove away from the Reddick home with Ebersole in the vehicle.

During an interview with an MCSO detective, Morman initially claimed that he “never had any contact” with Ebersole. He further claimed that he was not in town at the time of her disappearance. However, MCSO stated that several witnesses refuted Morman’s claims, and a search warrant was obtained for his cellphone.

Morman told investigators that he had “broken his phone and threw it out.” The sheriff’s office spoke with a witness who advised that Morman still possessed his cellphone, and another warrant was obtained to search Morman’s home and seize that phone, according to the sheriff’s office.

MCSO stated that Morman eventually turned the cellphone over to investigators, and he was arrested on December 20, 2023, for providing false information to law enforcement.

A search of Morman’s cellphone was conducted, and detectives allegedly found information suggesting that he had been at a 24-hour convenience store with Ebersole in the northwest part of Marion County in the early morning hours of March 3, 2023.

“Morman is considered a person of interest in Sara’s disappearance and has declined to speak with detectives,” said MCSO in a social media post on Monday, March 3, 2025. “Someone knows where Morman took Sara. If you have any information, even if it seems insignificant, please call and let us know. It could be the missing piece.”

Ebersole’s sister, Michelle Crystal Tullis, has spent the past two years advocating on behalf of her sister. She regularly posts updates on social media and has been adamant that she will continue to advocate for her sister until her safe return.
