Ocala park rangers will host a free session at a local park this weekend where visitors will learn about gators, gophers and geckos.

The fifth installment of the Programs in the Parks series will take place on Saturday, March 15, from 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Heritage Nature Conservancy, which is located at 2005 NE 3rd Street in Ocala.

All ages are welcome to come out and learn about gators, gophers, and geckos found in local parks and natural areas.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own blankets and/or chairs.

Future programs are as follows:

  • Owls and bats, March 21 – Heritage Nature Conservancy
  • Tree-mendous trees, April 26 – Scott Springs
  • May the Fish be with you, May 4 – Tuscawilla Park
