Marion County deputies are searching for a man accused of running over a 66-year-old woman with a go-kart.

Reddick resident Delvon Amil Thornton, 32, was recently riding a go-kart while arguing with the female victim when he “drove straight toward (her) and ran her over,” according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

When MCSO deputies arrived on scene, the victim had visible wounds on her body and face. In addition, several of her teeth were broken.

No further details regarding the incident were provided by the sheriff’s office.

In a social media post, Sheriff Billy Woods said, “Thornton has been to my jail 9 times already, so I doubt he is going to do the right thing by turning himself in.”

Thornton is wanted by MCSO for aggravated battery on a person over 65 years of age. Sheriff Woods is hoping that someone in the community can help locate Thornton to “bring his bookings to double digits.”

If you have any information about Thornton’s whereabouts, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office asks that you call 352-368-STOP(7867) and reference 25-12 in your tip.
