An ice cream shop that operated for decades out of a signature pink building in Belleview has reopened with a new name and new ownership.

Manny’s Ice Cream Shop has officially taken over the former location of Ms. Steve’s at 5803 County Road 484 in Belleview. Also known as The Pink Place, Ms. Steve’s Ice Cream officially closed its doors on March 31.

Manny’s Ice Cream Shop hosted its grand opening celebration just under two months after that on May 22.

In a statement issued to Ocala-News.com, the business acknowledged its predecessor’s special place in the local community and said it is committed to enhancing that experience and making it even better.

In addition to ice cream, the business also sells frozen bananas, cheesecake, and hot dogs.
