UPDATE: 911 operations were restored before midnight on Tuesday, July 8.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office and several local agencies are currently experiencing technical issues with 911, with phone lines down as of 3:15 p.m today.
On Tuesday afternoon, MCSO reported that all 911 and non-emergency phone lines were down.
According to MCSO, residents can still text 911 from their mobile devices if they need emergency assistance.
“Please do not call – text is the only way to reach help at this time. Stay tuned for updates as we work to restore service,” reads a statement from MCSO.
