A conceptual plan for the final phase of Emerson Pointe, a development that has been under construction in northeast Ocala and that will feature over 300 homes when built out, is up for review this week.

The Ocala Planning and Zoning Commission will review the phase 3 conceptual subdivision plan for the development on Monday, July 14.

Located along NE 28th Place in northeast Ocala, city officials approved an ordinance and resolution related to the final phase of the 323-home development earlier this year.

In May, Ocala-News.com reported that the community had begun selling its first set of homes at the site. When built out, the new phase will have over 70 units, bringing the total residential allotment in the community to approximately 323 single-family homes.

Emerson Pointe features a collection of one and two-story, concrete-block homes that include smart home systems, washers, dryers, quartz countertops, and stainless steel appliance packages.

Amenities at the site include a clubhouse with a pool and two dog parks (one for small and one for large dogs). All of those the amenities will be located in the first two phases of the development.

Ocala-News.com first reported the site for Emerson Pointe had been cleared for homes last Spring. In October 2024, county officials approved the final plat for the first phase, clearing the way for 92 homes to be built at the site. In September 2024, Ocala-News.com reported that roads and fences had been constructed within the community.

Emerson Pointe is another development project by D.R. Horton, which is behind multiple developments in various stages throughout Marion County. Those developments include Ocala Crossing South, The Towns at Laurel Commons, JB Ranch, Ocala Preserve, Lake Diamond, Autumn Glenn (Belleview), and McGinley Landing.

The Ocala Planning and Zoning Commission next meets on Monday, July 14, at 5:30 p.m. at Ocala City Hall (110 SE Watula Avenue).

Regardless of the recommendation by the commission, the conceptual plan will be presented to the Ocala City Council during an upcoming meeting for final approval.
