The Ocala Police Department is inviting residents to get a behind-the-scenes look at its operations during a six-week Citizen Police Academy that begins next month.
The program runs from Sept. 8 to Oct. 13, with sessions held Monday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at police headquarters. Participants will learn about the department’s various divisions and take part in hands-on law enforcement activities.
The academy is free for Marion County residents. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, live in or own a business in Ocala/Marion County, and attend at least five sessions to graduate.
The application deadline is August 30. Space is limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are available at OcalaPD.gov/community.
