A Chinese restaurant in southwest Ocala was forced to temporarily close its doors last week after it was cited for nearly two dozen health code violations, including rodent activity.
Wok N Roll II failed a health inspection conducted by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation on August 26.
According to an FDBPR inspection report, Wok N Roll II was cited for 22 different health code violations last week.
Among the violations were three considered “high-priority,” including the presence of rodent activity. The report notes that at least 13 rodent droppings were found in various places around the restaurant.
Additionally, raw chicken was being stored over lettuce in a walk-in cooler and a spray bottle of pesticide for household use was being stored underneath a three-compartment sink.
The restaurant was reinspected on the following day, August 27, and was permitted to reopen when no additional violations were discovered.
Located at 8602 SW Highway 200, Ste. 103, in the 103rd Street Plaza, Wok N Roll II has different ownership than another establishment of a similar name that has also closed recently over a failed health inspection. That restaurant, Wok N Roll, closed nearly ten times between August 2023 and September 2024.
