The first Raising Cane’s in Ocala is starting to take shape along State Road 200.
Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is currently under construction in the Ocala West shopping plaza, which is located at 2400 SW College Road (SR 200) in Ocala.
The property is owned by Argate Ocala West, LLC, and the agent who presented the project to the county was Davis L. Dinkins of Davis Dinkins Engineering.
The shopping plaza is home to one of the city’s two Twistee Treat locations in Ocala, Hobby Lobby, and a RaceWash Car Wash that was built on an outparcel in 2021. The development sits across the street from the city’s first Mission Inn BBQ and a Tropical Smoothie.
Raising Cane’s features a simple menu of chicken fingers, sandwiches, fries, coleslaw, and a few other items.
Founded in 1996 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, by Todd Graves and Craig Silvey, there are over 860 Raising Cane’s restaurants across the world as of this summer.
There are at least 26 locations built or planned across the state of Florida, including one in Gainesville and four in Orlando. The first of the locations in Orlando opened in late 2023.
Ocala-News.com first shared news of the Raising Cane’s coming to Ocala last November. An opening date for the new location in Ocala has not yet been announced.

Raising Cane’s is not the only national chicken chain that has set its sights on Ocala and Marion County.
Guy Fieri just opened his first Chicken Guy location within a Walmart in Ocala, Popeyes is working on a new location in the east side of the city, and Chick-fil-A opened another location in the city in late 2023.
