A new pickleball facility the just opened in Ocala will stay open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Dink Tank Pickleball officially opened for business on November 1. Located at 1891 SW 12th Avenue, the new business is owned by Sean and Keeley Plunkett.
The facility will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, according to the Plunketts. The business also hosts events every day of the week that can be viewed through their app.
“We wanted to create a local family business as our roots are here in Ocala, but the business really isn’t about us. We created The Dink Tank to bring a year-round, weatherproof place to play pickleball to Ocala, a place that’s more than just courts, but a community hub for players of all ages and levels,” said Mr. Plunkett in correspondence to Ocala-News.com.
Mr. Plunkett says he and his wife wanted to build a space that combined “competition, community, and fun” under the same roof.
“Pickleball is about connection and competition, and The Dink Tank was designed to make that accessible for everyone,” said Mr. Plunkett.
The new facility features four, professional-grade, CushionX courts that are gentle on the joints, replay technology, and a climate-controlled space that enables year-round play.
In addition to the events, the new pickleball business offers court reservations and open play sessions for all levels, private and group lessons, clinics, leagues, tournaments, and kids camps.
Reservations can be made directly through The Dink Tank app, which allows users to split court fees with friends.
Although membership is not required to play, members are afforded discounted rates on open play, leagues, and events.
To read more about the business, to download the app, or to schedule a reservation, visit The Dink Tank Pickleball online, or follow the group on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok.
The opening of The Dink Tank comes at the same time that another indoor pickleball facility is under construction. That site, Pickleball Kingdom, will be located just a couple of miles away.
