I believe protests have been a foundational American principle since before our country’s inception

To the Editor:

The Mayflower pilgrims were, in their own ways, engaging in peaceful protests.

The British Stamp Act Rebellion, ten years prior to 1776, were engaging in protests.

The Declaration of Independence is a protest.

The first amendment of the US Constitution is all about lawful protests.

Given the long history of American principles, and the total video record of this murder, of an American citizen, without any record of any justification, it would seem you might prefer to live in Russia.
