To the Editor:

I too have written to the county commissioners via email; with no response. As a tax paying citizen of Marion County and have been since 1997, I expect some representation.

We live in northwest Marion County. It is a rural area; not so quiet anymore. We have a very narrow County Road that they just resurfaced with no bike lanes. It is curvy and hilly, with a 55 mph speed limit. This alone poses a dangerous situation.

Sometime a few years back, someone decided to have bicycle races in our neighborhood.
It started out small and they themselves would block and direct traffic. It has now grown out of control. There are hundreds of them and now it’s not just one day, and it’s all day. They invade our neighborhood, disrupt our privacy, litter on our roadside, and aggravate our animals.

It is multiple days.

As a tax paying citizen, who, (when I moved here, this did not exist) would like them to move on elsewhere.

Why can’t they use a rails to trails bike path? Why must they disrupt, disturb and disrespect our way of life? Don’t the tax paying citizens have a say in the decisions that disrupt our lives?

I am fed up with taxation without representation. I am not the only person who feels this way. Please speak up and let the county commissioners know your concerns on this issue.
