Clara Crim Gore, one of ten children, was born on September 29,1929 to William Crim, Sr. and Lillian Johnson Crim in Ocklawaha, Florida.

She accepted Christ at an early age growing up in Shady Grove Baptist Church. She received her public school education through the Marion County Public School System. Upon high school graduation, she attended Clark College earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She furthered her collegiate studies and graduated from New York University earning her Master’s Degree in Education. Upon her completion of college, she began her teaching career in Broward County, Florida

In the early 1950’s she moved back to Marion County where she met and later married Bernard D. Gore on December 28, 1955. Together they raised four daughters and their marriage lasted over 50 years. She was a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church for over 60 years where she was a devoted member of the Mass Choir for over 50 years.

As her teaching career continued, she taught at Howard High School for several years. In 1972 she became a high school guidance counselor at Vanguard High School. For over thirty years she served in the school system with unwavering dedication, carrying out her work with a strength and ease that inspired those around her and touching the lives of countless students along the way. During those years she became a Soror with the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Ocala Alumnae Chapter.

Clara loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also known to “do a little shopping” making many friendships with the employees at The Paddock Mall and TJMaxx. She was always impeccably stylish carrying herself with grace and class wherever she went.

Clara leaves to cherish her memories and beautiful legacy to one sister, Hattie Rembert, Ocklawaha, Florida. Four daughters, Bernadette Roberts (Pernell) Ocala, Florida, Tamara Tucker, Ocala Florida, Kimberly Gore, Tampa Florida, Karen Plummer, DeBary Florida. Eight grandchildren, Bryon “B.K.” Wheeler, Brent Wheeler (Adriana), Devan Roberts, Khristian Roberts, Antonio McChriston (Crystal), Jasmine Tucker, Indya Tucker and Aysha Tucker. Seven great-grandchildren, two daughters through love and friendship, Lamonda Howze and Demetria Taylor, two special sons Kenneth Tucker and Michael Plummer, and her devoted caregivers Marlene, Toya and niece Angela Green. Also left to cherish her memories are many beloved nieces, nephews and friends, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
