To the Editor:

I am in complete agreement with the letters regarding traffic and out of control growth in Marion County.

People with hopes that our county commissioners will listen to existing residents might as well give it up!

I’ve written to county commissioners and city council members and no one answers my letters! I did get a letter from a county employee who tried to explain to me why Marion County won’t ever have a building moratorium to slow growth until infrastructure can catch up to growth. It’s because they are afraid of litigation from property owners.

The City Council at least listened to their constituents and made the developers of a 400-unit apartment complex across the street from Saddlewood Elementary School wait until the 4-lane roadway was completed before issuing COs for the apartments. Why can’t the county do that?

I guess it takes guts to listen and follow through with your constituents and I applaud the city council for that. Our only option is to vote out Marion County commissioners who can’t be bothered to answer our questions! Residents take note!
