A scratch-off ticket that won a $1 million prize was just sold at a liquor store in Ocala.
According to the Florida Lottery, the winning ticket was sold at the Marion Liquor located at 3951 S Pine Avenue in Ocala, on March 26.
The winner elected to receive a one-time, lump-sum payout of $556,000. Although the individual is from Ocala, his/her name has not been released in accordance with state law.
According to Florida Statute 24.1051, the names of winners of Florida Lottery prizes valued at $250,000 or more are exempt from public disclosure for 90 days from the date the prize is claimed.
The newest scratch-off marks another big win for Marion County residents this year.
Just eight days before the $1 million scratch-off was sold at Marion Liquor, another scratch-off ticket with a $2,500-a-week-for-life prize was sold at a 7-Eleven just south of Marion County.
Additionally, two other individuals both claimed six-figure prizes after they purchased separate Fantasy 5 tickets from the exact same Publix less than 72 hours apart.
