I like ALDI, but I don’t think we need more of them in Marion County

To the Editor:

The problem with another Winn-Dixie closing is employees of Winn-Dixie have lost their jobs if they’re not able to transfer to another store.

It is not like they can just go apply at Aldi’s because this is not happening as ALDI already has their employees that they’ve hired.

Initially, I was under the impression that the Winn-Dixie employees would be taken in by Aldi’s, but no, that is not the case.

Then, out in the Forest, I just don’t see any reason for an Aldi’s to be out there. They have no other grocery stores they’ll have to come in to Silver Springs to shop at Walmart or to shop at Publix and the Winn-Dixie on 441 and 35th is not that close to them.

I do like Aldi’s and I do shop at ALDI, but I don’t think we need them all over the place.
