Another 10-acre horse farm in Ocala has just changed hands for over $1.5 million.
Phillip and Peggy Dionne sold the property, located at 5028 W Anthony Rd, to Ellen Marie Lazarus, who acquired a 95% interest, for $1,512,500 on June 22, according to a deed filed with the Marion County Clerk of Courts.
The remaining 5% interest is controlled by Denielle Ann Gallagher and her husband, Bertrand Rene Robert Legriffon.
Located a few miles from the World Equestrian Center, the 10.53-acre property features a blend of residential living and equestrian facilities.
The fully fenced grounds include a paddock, a round pen, and an irrigated arena with sand and clay footing.
The property also features an 8-stall tongue-and-groove center-aisle barn equipped with an air-conditioned tack room, individual stall fans, automatic waterers, a wash rack with hot water, and a security camera system.
In addition to the equestrian amenities, the property also features a detached 4-bay garage and workshop that provides parking space for vehicles, equipment, or an RV.
The main residence is a two-story, craftsman-style home featuring five bedrooms and three bathrooms, including two first-floor primary suites with ensuite baths.
The sale of yet another large horse farm in Marion County comes amidst several similar large real estate transactions this year:
- A nearly 24-acre estate was sold for $2.45 million at the beginning of May.
- An equestrian who competed in the most recent Summer Olympics sold her nearly 61-acre compound for $4.45 million in late April.
- In March, an equestrian granddaughter purchased half of her family’s large ranch in Marion County for $1.5 million.
- At the beginning of the year, a 27-acre horse farm with a slue of upgrades was sold for $6.1 million, more than quadrupling its 2020 sales’ price.
In addition to the aforementioned sales, the World Equestrian Center has also been an active purchaser of horse farms around Ocala. In recent months, WEC has purchased three separate properties for over $13 million. All three sites are in close proximity to their facility, which is located at 1750 NW 80th Avenue in Ocala.
