An inebriated Silver Springs man was arrested early Sunday morning after he reportedly fired a handgun outside his mother’s home when his truck failed to start.

Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home located on Fisher Way in Ocklawaha at around 4 a.m. on Sunday, June 21, in reference to shots being fired in the area, according to the arrest report.

A female victim told deputies that her 25-year-old son, Arcain Blake Hall, was spending the night at her residence when he became “highly intoxicated” and attempted to drive to a local Waffle House. When a broken key prevented his Ford Ranger from starting, Hall allegedly grew enraged, pulled out a Ruger 57 pistol, and fired several rounds into the ground.

According to the victim’s statement, she “locked (Hall) outside the home” and then brought all the home’s occupants into the master bedroom. Moments later, she called 911.

Hall reportedly began beating on the front door and ultimately kicked it in, causing roughly $350 in damage to the frame. A security camera inside the kitchen captured Hall walking through the residence and yelling at the occupants for locking him out before fleeing through a rear sliding glass door, according to the report.

An MCSO K-9 unit successfully tracked Hall to a nearby area, where he was taken into custody. One of the responding deputies noted in the report that Hall had “vomited all over himself,” and he had a “very strong odor of alcoholic beverages on his breath.”

After being advised of his Miranda rights, Hall reportedly admitted that he was “hammered.” He also allegedly admitted to firing a handgun into the dirt because he believed the victim and other occupants had taken his truck’s keys.

During the post-Miranda interview, Hall allegedly stated that he kicked the front door down and grabbed a pack of cigarettes while inside the residence, according to the report.

While at the home, deputies reportedly discovered four 5.7x28mm brass shell casings in the yard, and a pistol was found wedged between the driver’s seat and center console of Hall’s truck. The report stated that Hall refused to give consent for law enforcement to recover the firearm from his vehicle, prompting deputies to seek a search warrant.

Hall was placed under arrest and booked into Marion County Jail on misdemeanor charges of firing a weapon on residential property, using a firearm under the influence of alcohol, and criminal mischief with less than $1,000 in property damage.

Jail records show that Hall was released the following day after posting bond, and a court date has not yet been scheduled.
