Home Depot has officially purchased the site for its new, 134,000-square-foot store in southwest Ocala, closing a $4.6 million deal for the property just days after an adjacent commercial site also changed hands.

On Top of the World Communities LLC sold the 22.62-acre parcel to Home Depot USA Inc. for $4,644,500 on June 26, according to a deed filed with the Marion County Clerk of Courts.

A major site plan for the project was filed with the Marion County Development Review Committee in May, advancing the development to the next stage following a critical special use permit approval by the Marion County Board of County Commissioners in late 2025.

The new Home Depot will feature a retail center of over 134,000 square feet in size

The gross square footage for the new warehouse store is divided between a main retail building spanning 106,651 square feet and an attached, outdoor garden center covering 28,156 square feet.

The Home Depot property purchase was finalized on the same day that a recently constructed Fifth Third Bank property was sold.

That site, which is situated directly in front of On Top of the World at 8253 SW Highway 200, was sold to PV Tow Ocala LLC for $2,775,000. It sits on a nearly one-acre lot near the future Home Depot site.
