Ocala’s own Nacssa Garemore is preparing to take center stage once again on NBC’s American Ninja Warrior this Monday as he faces a unique and new three-way race on the national stage.

For the first time, Garemore will be competing in the show’s newly introduced “Tripleheader” competition format. The race will pit Garemore against two other established ninjas in Brandon Singletary and David Bergstrom-Wright.

Last year, Garemore was ultimately knocked out of the competition by Bergstrom-Wright, who is a close friend and former training partner of the young Ocala athlete.

The new format is a supersized, three-lane racecourse where three ninjas compete simultaneously in high-speed, side-by-side matches.

This season, Garemore earned a direct ticket to the second round of the Eastern Regional Finals after he completed the course in 50.31 seconds, placing him third overall behind Kevin Rodriquez (45.27 seconds) and Noah Meunier (45.87 seconds).

Because he finished the entire course in under one minute, Garemore earned the opportunity to take on the massive 18.5-foot Mega Wall.

Since Garemore’s debut, he has consistently shattered records, becoming one of the rare competitors to conquer the iconic Mega Wall in consecutive seasons and earning $10,000 each time in the process. Garemore has also achieved some of the fastest semifinal clearance times in the history of the show.

Born in Guinea-Bissau, Garemore was surrendered to an orphanage as a newborn and was later adopted. He arrived in America at five years old, and he notes that learning English was the hardest thing he has ever had to do. Although he was homeschooled in previous years, the high school student asked his parents to let him enroll at Forest High School this past year so he could experience public school and socialize more with his peers.

To cheer on Ocala’s Nacssa Garemore, watch the brand-new episode of American Ninja Warrior on Monday, July 13 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on NBC. You can also stream it the following day on Peacock.
