A property with a long-running antique mall in Ocala that will permanently close its doors this week was just sold for over $1 million.
The commercial property housing Diggers Antique Mall on N Pine Avenue in Ocala was been sold for $1.11 million ahead of its final day of business on Friday, July 31.
Alex J. Llorente, the Aurelio Llorente Jr. Living Trust, and Llorente Properties LLC sold the property at 1811 N. Pine Avenue to buyer SCB Real Assets LLC for $1,110,000, according to a deed filed on July 15 with the Marion County Clerk of Courts. State corporate records show that SCB Real Assets LLC is owned by Seth McBride, James Kingsley, and Brian and Brad Hammett.
Situated on approximately 0.86 acres just south of NW 20th Street, the property features an 8,610-square-foot partial block and steel building.
The layout consists of roughly 2,550 square feet of front showroom and retail space paired with 6,060 square feet of climate-controlled warehouse and shop space in the rear.
Zoned B-5 Heavy Business, the site features more than 165 feet of frontage along N Pine Avenue, two grade-level roll-up service doors, and street-to-street access connecting N Pine Avenue to the back of the lot.
The transaction comes as Diggers Antique Mall winds down operations after serving the local community for well over a decade.
The business is currently holding a storewide liquidation sale, with vendors offering discounts ranging between 60% and 80% off merchandise, store fixtures, and displays.
“Diggers Antique Mall has been a part of this community for well over a decade. It is with heavy hearts that we must say we will be closing the store at the end of July,” reads a statement on the closure shared by the business in May. “That being said, there will be tons of sales and deals to be had before the last day. Many of the vendors will be participating in these sales.”
While Diggers Antique Mall is closing its doors, many of its longtime vendors will not be moving far.
A married couple has secured several vendors from the mall to join their new venture, Pine Avenue Antique Mall. Ocala-News.com will publish additional details on the opening of that new location in the coming days.
Diggers Antique Mall will remain open during its regular operating hours, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., through Friday.
