A Marion County deputy was called to the Wal-Mart in Summerfield on Thursday after a man refused to show a receipt for an item he was taking out of the store.
A loss prevention specialist at the store, located at 17691 S U.S. Hwy. 27/441, said he confronted the Hispanic man as he was walking out of the store with a speaker valued at $53.38. He said the man was wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
The deputy checked the store’s parking lot but couldn’t locate the man. He obtained a copy of video surveillance footage showing the man and a receipt showing the value of the speaker and submitted those into evidence.
