Ocala woman jailed after Martini glass brawl with man over ‘relationship issues’

Kacenia Krista Whyte

An Ocala woman was arrested early Sunday morning after deputies found a man “bleeding profusely” in her driveway.

According to a Marion County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies responded to a home on Silver Course Circle, where a man bleeding from a laceration between his eyes was waiting for them. The man told deputies that he and 36-year-old Kacenia Krista Whyte got into a verbal dispute over “relationship issues.” The man said he was upset at Whyte and was questioning her about another man who had been at their home.

The man told deputies that he and Whyte were in the foyer arguing when she hit him in the face with a “bottle,” which later was determined to be a martini glass, the report says. The man said he never touched or her hit Whyte during the altercation.

Whyte told deputies the two were arguing in the foyer area of the home when she asked him to leave multiple times. She said she was drinking alcohol from a martini glass and at one point during the altercation, she “slammed” it down, causing the bottom to break off.

Whyte also claimed that the man balled up his fists and “lunged” at her, “which caused her to take the martini glass and slap it across his face,” the report says. She also said that man never touched or struck her during the altercation.

A witness who saw the argument told deputies that Whyte was “very irate” and slapped the man with an open hand several times. The witness also said Whyte was “throwing her hands around during the argument and disrupting the household items around her,” the report says.

The witness said Whyte was yelling at the man to leave the house, but he “did not leave in a timely fashion.” She said she also saw Whyte take the “glass bottle” and slap it across the man’s face, the report says.

The witness said she didn’t see the man ball up his fists and lunge at Whyte, nor did she see him touch or strike her at any time. In fact, she added, the man did not show any aggression toward Whyte besides verbally arguing with her, the report says.

Whyte was transported to the Marion County Jail just after 1 a.m. Sunday and charged with domestic battery. She is being held on $5,000 bond and is due to appear in a Marion County court on July 24 at 8 a.m.
