Illegally tinted window leads to Ocala man’s arrest on multiple charges

Jacob Troy Sweet

An Ocala man who was wanted on several outstanding warrants was arrested Sunday night after a Marion County deputy stopped him for having his window illegally tinted.

After the deputy stopped Jacob Troy Sweet’s 2007 Cadillac CTS in the 2700 block of S Pine Avenue, he discovered that the 31-year-old Sweet was wanted on an outstanding warrant for grand theft. Sweet was taken into custody and the deputy then found a black baggie containing a green leafy substance in the center console that later tested positive for marijuana.

Sweet refused to talk to the deputy and was transported to the Marion County Jail. He was charged with possession of marijuana not more than 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sweet, who lives at 22 Saphire Way in Ocala, also was charged on the outstanding warrant with three counts of larceny/grand theft between $300 and $5,000, three counts of fraud (passing a false bank note or check) and three counts of using/possessing another person’s identification without their permission. He was being held on $20,000 bond.
