Pink-bra-clad man jailed after panhandling on busy Hwy. 200 in Ocala

Christopher Todd Piscitelli

A shirtless man clad in a pink bra with white trim and blue shorts was arrested Wednesday after Marion County sheriff’s deputies received complaints of a panhandler on SW Hwy. 200.

When the first deputy arrived in the 8800 block of Hwy. 200, he spotted Christopher Todd Piscitelli standing in the roadway’s safety zone. But when the deputy turned his car around and got out of his vehicle, Piscitelli was sitting down in a chair holding a cardboard sign, a sheriff’s office report states.

When the deputy told Piscitelli he had received complaints of a man wearing a bra panhandling on Hwy. 200, the 40-year-old homeless man said he was sporting the bra in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the report says.

A sheriff’s lieutenant arrived a short time later and told the deputy the agency had received multiple complaints about Piscitelli begging on the busy highway. Piscitelli was then taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with disturbing the peace. He was released Thursday night with credit for time served.

Piscitelli is no stranger to the Marion County legal system, having been housed in the jail 18 times since May 2008. He’s been arrested three other times this year alone, starting on Feb. 12 on charges of littering and possession of marijuana not more than 20 grams. On April 2, he was charged with disorderly intoxication in a public place. And on May 12, Piscitelli was again arrested for disorderly intoxication in a public place and for violating his probation on a similar charge.
