Violent love triangle attack lands jealous Orlando man behind bars

Phillip Jean Seide

An Orlando man is being held in the Marion County Jail without bond after he allegedly battered a woman after being told she had sex with another man.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to a 911 hang-up shortly after midnight Tuesday at a residence on Northeast 41st Street in Ocala. The victim told the deputy she was struck by 30-year-old Phillip Jean Seide.

The victim said she and Seide were arguing after another man told Seide he had had sexual intercourse with her. The victim told Seide that wasn’t true, but he continued to get angry and slapped her with an open hand on the left side of her face, causing her to fall to the ground, a sheriff’s office report states, adding that’s when she tried to call 911 with Seide’s cell phone.

The deputy observed a red mark on the left side of the victim’s face that she said was the result of being slapped. Seide said there was a verbal argument but no physical altercation.
Seide was arrested and charged with simple battery/dating violence and violating his probation for robbery. He’ll appear in Marion County Court on Feb. 12.
