Ocala man with suspended license busted for pot after caught speeding

Donald C. Taisler

An Ocala man was arrested and charged with marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license after being pulled over for speeding last week.

Donald C. Taisler, 24, of 2214 45th Ave., was driving a blue Toyota with Ohio license plates when he was stopped along the 4400 block of Northwest 60th Street. At that time the Marion County sheriff’s deputy noticed the odor of marijuana.

When asked if he had his driver’s license with him, Taisler told the deputy “it’s probably suspended.” A computer check confirmed two suspensions, from June and September, for failure to pay traffic fines.

The deputy then asked about the marijuana odor and Taisler responded, “I have it in the glovebox as well as a bowl.” A search turned up a cigarette packet with a clear baggie filled with a green leafy substance that field tested positive for marijuana.

Taisler was taken to the Marion County Jail. He was released the next day on $2,000 bond. No court date was set.
